Faculty Academic Board (FAB)

FAB is the Faculty's policy setting committee. As well, part of its function is to review all teaching/course developments. Submissions to FAB must be made through elected and ex officio representatives and, where appropriate, signed off by the relevant Area Head.

Faculty Promotions Committee

This committee meets twice at the end of each year to evaluate applications for academic promotion, up to Associate Professor.

Faculty Resources Board (FRB)

FRB is the venue for discussion and decisions about allocation of resources within the Faculty. The Board is comprised of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, the Heads of Schools and the Faculty Administrator. It meets as required.

Academic Study Leave (ASL)

ASL is provided to enable staff to

  1. maintain and improve their professional and vocational knowledge;
  2. obtain practical experience in the workplace for which they are preparing students;
  3. undertake applied research.

Staff in any academic category whose appointment to the tenured staff is confirmed may apply for absence to undertake an ASL. The committee that assesses applications by academic staff for outside study support meets in May and November each year. Deadlines for application are 30 April and 31 October, respectively. The committee comprises the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Head(s) of Schools and external (from another Faculty) Head(s) of Schools.
