Students’ academic awards night

The School of Biomedical Sciences, in conjunction with The Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS) WA Branch, recently presented a gala awards evening at Matilda Bay Restaurant, Crawley.

The event, held on Tuesday 19 April 2016, was to honour outstanding academic performance by students in Laboratory Medicine and Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology.

Mr Peter Boyne, Laboratory Director, Western Diagnostic Pathology, was the after dinner speaker at the event. His talk entitled ‘From Test Tubes to Bioinformatics’ encapsulated his experiences of some of the changes that have shaped pathology delivery. He also provided his forecast for future developments.

The AIMS Gold and Silver Medal winners were Ms Virginia Hilpipre and Ms Hayley Iagollo, respectively. Click here for a full list of the awards and winners.
