Top Students Take Out Prizes
The School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work held its annual prize giving afternoon on Tuesday 16 February 2016 with students, graduates, family and friends, industry partners and staff in attendance.
Twenty seven industry partners presented prizes to students for academic excellence. The school Duxes were Amber Blackburn, Occupational Therapy, and Sarah Anderson, Social Work. Both Duxes delivered inspirational speeches that reflected their journeys at Curtin. Special mention goes to Amber Blackburn, who was also awarded the Highest Achieving Graduating Honours Student in BSc (OT) or BSW.
Elainah Coffin was awarded The Peter Jordan Award for Social Justice, which is given to a student in the Bachelor of Social Work who embodies and enacts social justice values.
Head of School Awards were made to two outstanding students, Leigh Mitsopoulos and Chelsea Marshall, who went above and beyond what was expected of them in their studies, and demonstrated Curtin values.
