Accreditation of Paramedicine Major, (Bachelor of Science, Health Sciences)
In late September, the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine and the College of Pre-Hospital Care at St John Ambulance WA were visited by representatives of the Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA) as part of the Education Programs Accreditation Scheme. The accreditation team commented positively on the program overall in addition to the cooperation, support, information and hospitality extended during the site visit by staff associated with the delivery of the Bachelor of Science (Health Sciences) program and staff that were involved in the evaluation process.
As a result the ‘Bachelor of Science (Health Sciences) Paramedicine major’ has been awarded ‘Provisional Accreditation’ status by the CAA Paramedic Education Programs Accreditation Scheme. Full accreditation cannot be applied for until a specific period of time following the graduation of the inaugural cohort (in 2016).
Head of School, Professor Phill Della wishes to thank all that were involved in preparing the application for accreditation and the site visit.
