Research workshop in the area of ‘molecular and cellular nutrition’
On Friday 29 January the School of Biomedical Sciences hosted a successful research workshop in the area of ‘molecular and cellular nutrition’. Two of the invited speakers were from Sao Paulo, Brazil (Tania Pithon Curi and Rui Curi), one from University of Western Australia (Gerald Watts) and the other seven were from Biomedical Sciences or Public Health at Curtin. The agenda was packed with speakers discussing cell function, chronic disease and nutrition and ended with the participants enjoying a sundowner which was a perfect networking opportunity for staff and visitors.
Following on from discussions and planning that originated from the Curtin workshop, a ‘Regulation in metabolism’ symposium is now planned for Sao Paulo, Brazil in July 2016.
A big thank you to Andrea Johnson and Mary Edwards from the School of Biomedical Sciences for providing administrative support in the lead up and assistance on the day of the workshop, organised by Philip Newsholme and Cyril Mamotte.
