exercise program

Our clinicians have completed comprehensive training and are supported by Curtin Exercise Sports and Rehabilitation Science students.

We offer programs for people with heart disease, diabetes or cancer or for those over 50 wishing to improve their fitness.

Our programs are open to all members of the community and are approved Curtin wellness activities for staff.

Cardiac Exercise

This community-based, supervised exercise and rehabilitation program is for people who have experienced a cardiac event or have cardiac risk factors. People with diabetes can also join this program to improve their heart health.

The program aims to improve your fitness and help you better manage your health through education and symptom-monitoring.

What’s involved?

One of our accredited exercise physiologists will tailor an exercise program for you based on an initial assessment.

During this assessment the exercise physiologist will measure your resting heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and body composition.  You will also complete a six-minute walk test to determine your fitness level and range of movement.

Your health is monitored throughout the program. Our clinicians have completed comprehensive training and are supported by Curtin Exercise Sports and Rehabilitation Science students.
