Assessing interpersonal violence in Western Australia in Western Australia


The aim of this study is to increase our knowledge and understanding of the size and nature of interpersonal violence victimisation (interpersonal violence) as a significant community and societal issue in Western Australia. This will be accomplished by using population data from the Western Australian Health Services Research Linked Database. Administrative health records from presentations to Emergency Department, hospital admissions, and deaths will be extracted from 1998 to 2007. A cross-sectional study examining presentations to General Practitioners for interpersonal violence will also be undertaken.
