Tracey Simonaitis: Health Technology Services Manager, Serco, Fiona Stanley Hospital
Course: BSc (Health Information Management)
I enrolled into the Health Information Management degree because it had extensive career offerings and is available fully online. Because the course was offered part time, I could still balance work commitments and my young family. Before I had finished my degree I gained a position as the Regional Manager of Corporate and Health Information for the Great Southern region of the WA Country Health Services and Application Specialist for a major IT system used in health. Just two years after graduating I became the Health Technology Services Manager for Serco. I am responsible for the project planning of the health record management, clinical coding, patient administration, release of information, scheduling services, billing and reporting for the new Fiona Stanley Hospital, which will be our first paper light hospital in Western Australia.
