Curtin is a leader in health professional education and health research in Australia and South-East Asia.
The Faculty of Health Sciences follows a long tradition of discipline-based course delivery in the health professions, well integrated with the professions in which graduates practice. Many staff are actively involved in practice and many leading professionals from the health care sector contribute to teaching our courses. At the same time, our strong academic orientation keeps us at the forefront of evidence-based practice.
Aligned with our teaching interests, the Faculty includes a large number of major research groups in the areas of life sciences, clinical sciences and population health sciences. Through our research programs, we contribute to the development of new strategies to improve health. Students have the advantage of being taught by people who have had wide practical experience in the health system.
