Cooperative Research Centres Association Awards

Each year the Cooperative Research Centres Association (CRCA) hosts a conference where researchers, educators and industry meet to share and discuss new ideas. This year, the CRCA hosted the awards for Excellence in Innovation in Canberra from 23 to 25 May at Parliament house.

One of the awards was for Showcasing Early Career Researchers. To be eligible for the award, early career researchers were required to submit a 30 second video explaining their research, and then participate in a final five-minute presentation.

Melissa Scott was selected as one of five finalists from 41 entries to participate in the competition. The other finalists were tough competitors. Unfortunately, Melissa Scott did not win the finals, but had a wonderful time participating and networking with a variety of different researchers and politicians. She also had the support of the Autism CRC CEO Andrew Davis and Chair Judy Brewer, who attended the event.
