In July, ten Master of Pharmacy students volunteered at the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia’s (PSA) annual conference, PSA17, in Sydney.

PSA17 is the PSA’s  flagship annual global event aimed at pharmacists, industry leaders, students and health professionals, who are committed to shaping the future of the pharmacy profession.

The volunteers worked for one day, carrying out various duties such as scanning, ushering, and setting up banners and handing out fliers, and were able to attend the event free of charge on another day.

PSA17 volunteer, Rina Kamata, said the group gained useful knowledge at  the event.

“PSA17 had more than 50 speakers and over 40 topics aimed at different areas of pharmacy. We were lucky enough to meet so many inspiring people from the pharmacy industry from all parts of Australia,” she said.

“Throughout the weekend we gained valuable knowledge for our future pharmacy career and shared memories that we will hold onto forever. Most of all we learnt to enjoy what we do!”

Including the volunteers, 20 pharmacy students attended the PSA17 this year.
