New media contact – Yasmine Phillips
The Faculty of Health Sciences has welcomed a new media consultant after Yasmine Phillips joined the media team at Curtin.
Most recently, Yasmine was a senior media adviser for the Department of Premier and Cabinet of WA, handling communications for the former Treasurer, Minister for Energy; and Citizenship and Multicultural Interests Minister Mike Nahan.
A Curtin University graduate who hails from Geraldton, Yasmine started her career in journalism in Narrogin and Albany before completing a cadetship at The West Australian newspaper and working as a reporter and the head of news at The Sunday Times newspaper.
“There is so much amazing research being undertaken in the Faculty of Health Sciences so I’d very grateful if you could please let me know about anything that might be of interest to media,” she said.
“I’d love to hear from you if there is a particular area of expertise that you would like to speak publicly about so we can work together to find opportunities.
“Please feel free to drop me an email on firstname.lastname@example.org or give me a call on 9266 9085.”
