Curtin Medical School Research
Our aim is to establish a research culture to grow expertise in clinical, applied and medical education research in the key areas of our mission and in emerging areas of expertise. We have several clinical academics across the broad medical subspecialties with a range of research portfolio. Current research work encompasses aboriginal health, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, paediatrics, respiratory, renal, vascular surgery, paediatrics, community and rural health.
The Centre of Clinical Research and Education (CCRE) is closely linked and co-located in the Medical School building. We intend to explore the option of developing a BMedSci which would further enable development of a research culture within the medical student community, thereby nurturing clinical academics of the future.

HDR Programs
We introduced two Higher Degree by Research (HDR) programs in 2019, the PhD and MPhil, which are available now for enrolment. Candidates interested in exploring higher degree options should contact Dr Sally Kilburn
